Co-Extrusion

This is the most advanced and widely used manufacturing method today. Vinyl fencing is produced using two layers, each containing ultraviolet (UV) inhibitors. These layers are chemically bonded under high pressure and temperature to form a solid, continuous piece. This process requires higher investment in equipment, tooling, training, and overall manufacturing.

Manufacturer Specifications for Vinyl Fencing

Products must meet a minimum level of compliance with ASTM standards.

The American Society for Testing and Materials provides technical standards and product ratings for various materials, including vinyl fencing. Products must meet these minimum requirements to comply with ASTM standards. Some manufacturers use pipe-grade specifications, which have lower requirements for UV protection and impact resistance.

Characteristics of High-Quality Vinyl Fencing

Will not fade or yellow

Contains UV inhibitors

Made with PVC for long-term durability and resistance

Includes 12 parts titanium dioxide, a key additive that protects against harmful UV rays

Engineered to handle normal temperature variations and changing climates

Tested through accelerated weathering and meets ASTM standards

ACCU-Shield

Homeland manufactures durable PVC products enhanced with advanced UV protection known as ACCU-Shield. This protective outer layer is engineered to significantly reduce oxidation and the damaging effects of ultraviolet rays. Even in harsh climates, ACCU-Shield helps maintain color and surface quality for a longer period.
